About
A versatile designer and thinker, Pete Oyler's design work has been showcased (inter)nationally. After completing his BA in American Studies, Oyler studied woodworking in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina at Penland School of Crafts. In 2009 he received his MFA in Furniture Design from the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) and his thesis body of work won RISD's Award of Excellence. In 2012 Oyler was named one of Forbes Magazine's top 30 under 30 for Art & Design.
Oyler co-founded Assembly Design with Nora Mattingly in 2012. He is also the co-founder, co-editor, and creative director of Outpost Journal , an annual publication on art, design, and community action in smaller urban areas.
